Q This week we will use our threaded discussion boards to build, critique, and discuss research project surveys. By the end of the week, each group should have a “working” survey ready for customers to complete. In short, groups will be tasked with constructing a survey that includes up to 10 questions that support decision-making in one of 3 important areas of market research: customer satisfaction, customer retention, or customer acquisition. Since we only have a couple of months in class, students will construct short surveys in one of the previously mentioned areas, and all questions must be measured on a binary (1 or 0) or Likert scale (1 to 5 or 1 to 7). Students will also include up to 5 questions related to an individual's demographics - e.g., income, location, race, sex, military, race, ethnicity, etc. So, surveys will contain up to 15 questions total with demographics included. After the survey has been created, it must be distributed to at least 20 customers of their chosen good or service - these can be customers are your firm, customers at a friend's firm, or consumers of a particular good or service you are interested in learning more about. Finally, in order to accomplish our goal of conducting strategic market research, please make sure that survey items and/or questions can be linked to decisions that inform and/or support an organization’s strategic initiatives in the area of either customer acquisition, customer satisfaction, or customer retention. I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!
